The company called Kamleon offers real-time analysis of the athletes’ level of hydration by means of a Smart Urinal
the technological innovation that is concerned with the physical condition of the sportsmen and sportswomen is already an additional reality at the World Cup Finals that Grandvalira is hosting. In the Team Hospitality area, a commitment has been made to be able to offer a very specific and innovative service. In this area, reserved for athletes and their teams, there is a new, non-invasive tool available that allows for immediate results to be obtained on the athletes’ hydration levels. By monitoring the athlete’s hydration levels in real-time by means of urination into a smart urinal, data is obtained that enables improvement to be made in the skier’s physical and cognitive performance. In addition, and following the success of the 2019 edition, Andorran nutritionist Marta Pons has once again been advising the Organising Committee's catering team with the aim of being able to offer options that are tailor-made to the racers’ needs.
A merging of technology and improvements made in the racers’ physical and mental condition. This innovative service has been introduced this year courtesy of Kamleon, the first start-up in the world that uses this technique. Creators of the world's first Smart Urinals, its founders say that it is "the tool for the future". This is because the sportsperson obtains real-time analytical data on their level of hydration and interpreting that data can drive improvement in physical and cognitive performance, reduce levels of fatigue and even speed up the recovery process. Another benefit that should be highlighted is the time it takes: skiers do not have to modify their routine, as the results are instantaneous. The immediacy and speed of the data achieved is the future and this was highlighted by the company’s CEO, Jordi Ferré: “The sportsperson will become increasingly intelligent because they will be more connected than ever to being able to make the best decisions. At Kamleon, we are turning the bathroom into the athlete’s new monitoring platform."
In terms of the diversity of foods, Team Hospitality focuses on different categories, including the fields of vitamins, energy, protein, healthy fat-rich foods and recovery and hydration products. Indeed, this year, with an emphasis on hydration, a more specific buffet has been put together, with smoothies and drinks prepared on the spot that are rich in vitamins and minerals, and which is the main new feature for this edition.
