The FIS called the four applicants to Portugal to allow them to get to know those responsible for judging the candidacies, the fair play rules between competitors, and the promotional spaces in the congress centre where the election will take place at the end of May 2022.

Andorra la Vella, Monday 13 September 2021. Andorra continues with the process to be a candidate to host the Alpine World Ski Championships in 2027. The four candidates have met in Vilamoura, Portugal for the first time. The International Ski Federation (FIS) called together the candidacies of Crans Montana (SUI), Garmisch-Partenkirchen (GER), Narvik (NOR) and Andorra for them to get to know the people who will be in charge of fudging the venues, including the director of the FIS, Philippe Gueisbuhler.

For three days, the Andorran delegation led by the general director of the candidacy, David Hidalgo, and the director of Hospitality, Àlex Orúe, were able to visit the facilities and promotional spaces where the annual congress of the FIS will be held at the end of next May, when the 17 members of the council of the international federation will vote on the 2027 World Championships venue.

During the stay in the Portuguese town, the FIS also spelled out the fair play rules that candidates must follow during the months of promotion, as well as the calendar for the next steps such as the autumn meeting that usually takes place in Zurich, which will be held online on 28 September, and for which Andorra will be present to receive the first assessment of its proposal by a committee of FIS experts.

The director of the Andorra 2027 candidacy, David Hidalgo, explained that they also met with the vice president of the Portuguese federation, Pedro Flávio. The Portuguese team, which will participate in the next Winter Olympics in Beijing, will stay in Soldeu El Tarter (Grandvalira) to prepare for the Olympics to be held in February.
